ARRANGING TO GO OUT

Can you arrange to go out with someone in English?  What would you do if George Clooney wanted to have a coffee with you?  Or if Angelina Jolie wanted to play Tombraider with you?  This practice will help you arrange to meet them (if they ever phone you).  At least it will help you with the interaction part of the oral exam…

First of all, listen to a conversation I had with Pina.  We want to meet but we are very busy.  Listen and find this information:

-What is Pina doing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday?

-When can we meet and what are we going to do?

Did you hear the expressions we use to make suggestions?  Now look at this pdf document and check the expressions and the answers to the questions.  There is also a model dialogue you can practise with a friend:

  1. Hello Michael (and everybody)!

I love your post! I’d like to share it with my NB2 students so that they can have further practice.

BTW, Happy New Year 2012 and happy back to work ;)

    Take care

    Patricia
