Last week we were talking in class about interesting opening and closing sentences of famous books. And look what I’ve discovered today on The Telegraph website, a gallery with 30 interesting opening sentences of famous works, starting with Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (my favourite).
How many of these books have you read? Which one do you think you would enjoy reading?
Just click on the picture below to see the gallery.

Have you been to an English or French-speaking country? Did you take any photographs? If you did, then why not enter our photography competition: ‘Una Mirada Dentro y Fuera’? If you haven’t been to any of these countries, don’t worry, you can enter a photograph of the northwest of Gran Canaria (Guía, Gáldar, Agaete, Moya and La Aldea de San Nicolás). You can get a copy of the competition rules in the EOI office or download them here. Fantastic prizes for the 3 winners and ALL photos will be exhibited at the Casa de Cultura in Guía from 11th to 22nd of March! Hand in your photos to the EOI office in A4 (folio) size print or on a pendrive and we will print them for you. You have until February 28th to hand in your photos. Good luck!

I’m sure you all know Google is an awesome tool and both teachers and students can find lots of utilities among their services: Google search, images, videos, blogger, maps, drive, docs, etc.
Today we are presenting a way to search texts by their reading level. The tool is not 100% efficient, but can help. Just follow the steps on the image and you’ll find texts adapted to the level you are looking for.
