Writing a blogpost is not an easy thing, but it’s not difficult either.
The main points you should bear in mind are these:
- What are you writing about?
- Who are you writing to?
- What’s your style?
Then, you should bear in mind these considerations about structure:
- Don’t write more than 250 words.
- Use paragraphs and/or bullet points
- Be clear
Finally, remember that a blogpost is something that is going to be published and visible by everybody, and if you want to make it more attractive and “findable” you should:
- Respect the netiquette (respecting your readers and mentioning your sources)
- Add links
- Add images or video
- Add key words in the headline and in the article
- Add tags
Notwithsantding, you have all the information given in class in the presentation below. Besides, I recommend you to visit this post, where Laura Martín explains how to write a blog post in the blog English in Guia – Nivel Avanzado.
Finally, if you are really interested in knowing more about how to write your own blog, I recommend you reading this blog post called The Best Sources Of Advice For Teachers (And Others!) On How To Be Better Bloggers, taken from the blog Larry Ferlazzo’s Websites of the Day. The article is aimed at teachers, but can be helpful for everybody.
