Some tips for your speaking tests

Speaking tests are one of the most disgusting situations students experience.

The British Council has published a set of videos explaining what you should and shouldn’t do during a speaking test. Please watch them and take notes, the advice given will probably be useful for you in the future.

Can you give your classmates any other useful piece of advice?

  1. Hello teachers,
I would like to ask you something about this. When I’m learning any different language I have always thought I couldn’t be shy. I prefer to speak a lot and have some mistakes instead of being shy. But in this case, I must do it very well because it’s an exam. Because of this, I’m scared when I have to do any speaking test. Could you give me any advice? Thank you so much in advanced.

    1. Dear Rayco, this is a great question. If you don’t speak, you won’t make any mistakes, but you won’t pass your exam either. If you make the same mistake more than once, it will count as a single mistake. If you speak a lot and make lots of different mistakes, that mean you are not doing it well.

According to my experience, those who are good at speaking will get a great mark speaking for a long time, and those who aren’t, won’t pass, whether they say 5 sentences or 20.

      Miracles don’t exist.

  2. Thank you very much Eva. Then I’ll try to speak as much as possible. Don’t shame! Don’t scare! Only speak English and forget about everything else.
