Party Animal

In unit 7A we learnt about how to behave at parties.  My aunt Margaret is definitely a party animal.  Click here for the recording of a conversation I had with her and answer the questions on the photocopy I gave you in class.   Answers in class.

Did you notice that I use the same questions as the ones in the speaking activity on the photocopy?  You can use these questions to practise talking on your own, or ask each other the questions after class.  The more you practise, the easier it will be to speak.

  1. Well….I’ve been to many parties, but I specially remember one of them because in that party there were all my best friends and also all my family (uncles, cousins, etc).
Really I could tell you many fun anecdotes which happened that day, but I’m only going to tell you a pair of them:
    – I wore a beige polo neck, a beige and large skirt with an brown scarf tied around my waist and hippies earrings, so I wore informal clothes. I was waiting for the guests at the door and, when they arrived and looked me, they surprised and asked me: Have the party finished yet?
    – At first of party we listened “From now on”, a Supertramp’s great song; but today I think it wasn´t a good choice because the lyrics say: “living in a fantasy, it’s you for you and me for me, from now on”. And it would say: “it’s you for me and me for you, from now on”. What Kind of party was it? Do you guess it?
    – We had a great time, it was a fantastic and unforgettable night: we danced and danced, but we also drinked quite and, at the end, when I started to drive my car, I crashed it!
Finally, the best of the party was ………………………………………………………………………. after the party!
What Kind of party was it? Do you guess it?

    1. It sounds like a crazy party. I don’t understand why you drove your car if you were waiting for the guests at the door. Why were you waiting for the guests if it wasn’t your home? Thanks for this funny anecdote.

  2. Sorry, I had a mistake, I put: I think it wasn’t a good choice instead of I don’t think it was a good choice….

    1. Remember to check before you publish your post. Making mistakes is the best way to learn. And the best way to practise writing is … by writing!!! Does anyone else have a party story to tell?
